Winston

Winston is the gentle giant of the herd—and the only boy in the bunch. Standing a whopping 18 hands tall (and possibly still growing…), he’s friendly, goofy, and very much a classic gelding who doesn’t take himself too seriously. This snack-loving giraffe puts away about three bales of hay a day with great enthusiasm.

When Winston first came to us after being rescued, he was thin and underfed. We thought he was done growing—but once he had regular meals and a sense of safety, he surprised us with a growth spurt, as if his body finally believed he was going to be okay. 

Winston is still early in his training, but we can already see his potential as a therapeutic partner. There’s quiet sensitivity beneath the silly, and the way he watches people says he’s listening. One day, he’ll be powerful in sessions—not because of his size, but because of his presence.
